![]() Care and Maintenance GRANITE
Granite is the worry-free surface, requiring a few
precautions. It is extremely durable, stain resistant and easy to care for. Hot pots and pans won't damage your stone surface.
It won't chip, crack or scratch under normal use. Cutting boards are recommended when slicing bread, meat or vegetables to
protect your knives.
MARBLE
Marble isn't quite as worry-free as granite. It has
a softer, less stain-resistant surface than granite and should be treated like a fine piece of wood. Spills should be wiped
up immediately; coasters should be placed under beverages to avoid staining and etching. Marble is expressly susceptible to
damage from citric acids, alcohols, and oils. Through the proper care its beauty will last for generations.
CERAMICS
Ceramic tile provides one of the most durable, practical,
and hygienic surface material available. It is important to remember that ceramic tile is low maintenance, not maintenance
free. There are a variety of excellent cleaners and sealers that are made specifically for different types of tile.
GROUT CARE TIPS
Grout may periodically require special attention because
of its porous and textured surface. Also, grout joints are normally recessed below the tile surface. Simply running a mop
across the tile surface does not always clean the grout. To remove ground-in dirt, directly agitate the grout joint with a
scrub brush. This procedure may be done periodically during the routine cleaning of your tile.
